Involving people with dementia

After being unsuccessful in recruiting a project manager for user involvement first time around, the Alzheimer’s Society has now recruited a project manager two days a week for the next two years, and are hoping that she will be able to start in July. The postholder will work to set up a framework across the South West to ensure that users’ voices are heard and can be instrumental in shaping and influencing the delivery of services for people affected by dementia.

As a person with dementia commented:

“We’ve only got dementia – we’re not stupid and being involved helps us.”

We will announce the project manager’s name and contact details in future editions of the bulletin and on this website.
